Getting to interview and failing is the worst feeling in this process.

You've invested months. You've got through every stage. And then you sit in front of them and they say no. It feels personal.

Some students submit their application and think the hard work is done. They get four interview invitations and zero offers. That near-100% interview-to-offer conversion rate we maintain? It exists because interview readiness starts from day one, not two weeks before the interview.

Think Like a Doctor™ is Future Doc's six-step approach to interview preparation, built into the Predictable Offer Protocol.

Interview readiness starts on day one.

Every reflection you write through the Experience Lens, every ethics discussion through Finger on the Pulse, every piece of your personal statement through the Impact Statement feeds into making you genuinely impressive at interview. This isn't interview prep bolted on at the end. It's a six-step process that begins the moment you join the programme.

From November, formal preparation is structured around three pillars: reflection on your experiences drawn from the Reflection Bank you've been building all year, skills frameworks for ethical reasoning and structured thinking (including CASPer and group tasks), and the hot topics knowledge developed through months of debate and discussion. Then comes intensive practice: 1:1 coaching, group hotseats and masterclasses, and an ever-growing question bank for self-paced work between sessions.

University-specific practice with your coach, using our database, is tailored to the exact format and style of questions at each university you're interviewing at. The In-Person Interview Day is consistently rated as the most valued part of the entire programme. More personalised feedback in a single day than most people get in their entire application cycle. Online mock interviews are also available for students who can't attend in person or whose university interviews online.

In the final stage, we make everything unique and specific. New coaches may be introduced to simulate unfamiliar interviewers. The team researches hot-button issues and specific styles for each university. The programme runs until your last interview is finished, not until your UCAS application is submitted.

University-specific practice

Tailored to the exact format and style of each university you're interviewing at. MMIs, panel interviews, and everything in between.

The Interview Hot Seat

Simulates the pressure cooker environment so the real interview feels comfortable, not terrifying. Deliberately harder than the real thing.

The In-Person Interview Day

The most valued part of the entire programme. More personalised feedback in a single day than most people get in a year. Online mocks also available.

Support until your last interview

The programme doesn't stop when UCAS is submitted. We're with you through every interview, with hotseats, masterclasses, and 1:1 coaching.

Six steps from day one to interview day.

We don't prepare students for interviews. We prepare them to think, speak, and present like future doctors and dentists. That preparation starts from the moment you join, not when invitations land.

Step 1

Build the foundation

Interview preparation starts the day you join. Reflecting on work experience builds the material. Writing your personal statement teaches articulation under pressure. Ethics discussions train on-the-spot reasoning. By November, you've been building readiness for months without even realising it.

Step 2

Three grounded pillars

From November, formal preparation is structured around three pillars: Reflection (how you present yourself, drawing on the Reflection Bank), Skills (ethical reasoning, data interpretation, structured thinking for MMI and panel formats), and Hot Topics (healthcare issues built through Finger on the Pulse).

Step 3

Drill hours of practice

1:1 coaching sessions, the Interview Hot Seat where we simulate the pressure cooker environment of the real interview in front of other students (deliberately harder than the real thing), group practice calls, and an ever-growing question bank for self-paced preparation.

Step 4

University-specific practice

Your coach runs practice sessions tailored to each specific university you're interviewing at. Not generic interview prep. Practice that reflects the format, style, and kind of questions that university actually asks.

Step 5

The in-person interview day

Consistently the most valued part of the entire programme. An intensive day of MMI circuits, panel interviews, and detailed one-on-one feedback. More personalised feedback on your interview technique in a single day than most people receive in their entire lives.

Step 6

Make you unique and specific

New coaches are introduced to simulate unfamiliar interviewers and throw you off balance. The team researches hot-button issues for each university. You walk in prepared for the specific interview ahead of you.

This is where everything pays off.

That near-100% interview-to-offer conversion rate exists not just because of the interview preparation itself, but because of all the work that has gone into the application before that point. Every reflection through the Experience Lens, every roundtable through Finger on the Pulse, every piece of work experience, every personal statement hook planted through the Impact Statement has made the student the real deal.

The interview is where the whole Predictable Offer Protocol pays off. You're not performing. You're being yourself, and that self has been shaped by months of genuine preparation across all twelve modules.

We don't prepare you to answer questions.

We prepare you to think, speak, and present like a future doctor or dentist. Dr Ash has sat on interview panels. You can tell in 30 seconds whether someone is faking it or is the real deal.

"Become so good that they simply cannot ignore you." That's the philosophy. We don't teach you what to say. We help you become someone who naturally says the right things because they've genuinely thought about them. Like the jazz musician who has internalised all the fundamentals and riffs in real time, rather than following sheet music note for note.

The community effect matters too. Students practise together, push each other, keep each other sharp. Group hotseats, masterclasses, roundtable debates. When you've debated ethics with your peers for months, one more panel question doesn't faze you.

Dentists are doctors too. Think Like a Doctor covers both pathways equally. You can read the full article here for a deeper look at the interview preparation methodology.

Frequently asked questions

When does interview preparation start?

From day one of the programme. Everything you do, from work experience reflection to ethics discussions to personal statement writing, feeds into becoming the kind of person who is genuinely impressive at interview.

Formal interview modules begin from November, structured around three pillars: reflection, skills frameworks, and hot topics. But by that point you've been building the foundations for months. That's why our students are different from candidates who cram interview prep into a fortnight.

Do you prepare for both MMIs and panel interviews?

Yes. University-specific practice covers the exact format used by each of your target universities. Your coach knows which format each university uses and adapts the preparation accordingly.

Some universities use MMIs (multiple mini interviews), others use traditional panel interviews, and some use a combination. The preparation is different for each, and your coach tailors it to your specific interview schedule. Group hotseats also cover both formats so you get practice across the board.

What if I've already had interviews and didn't convert?

That's exactly what Think Like a Doctor addresses. We diagnose what went wrong and rebuild your interview skills from the ground up. There's always a reason, and it's usually fixable.

Re-applicants who come through the Predictable Offer Protocol frequently get in on their first attempt with us. The difference is having someone who can see what you can't see about your own performance.

Is the In-Person Interview Day compulsory?

It's not compulsory, but students consistently rate it as the most valuable part of the programme. The volume of personalised feedback you receive in a single day is difficult to replicate in any other format.

It's also where the community effect is strongest. Practising with other students who are going through the same process builds confidence in a way that solo preparation simply doesn't match. For students who can't attend in person, or whose university uses an online interview format, we also run online mock interviews.

Start preparing properly.

Don't let the interview be the thing that stops you.
